Word of the Day

The Canadian Word of the Day is a collection of unique words, hand selected by Katherine Barber, that are either only found in Canada or have a usage in Canada not found anywhere else. Example: did you know that the term “collector lanes” is used only in Canada?

  • a small business which practises a traditional craft or skill (e.g. paper making, cheese making, apple growing, etc.) and also acts as a museum by allowing visitors to observe the work and learn more about its history through displays and other interpretive materials.
