Mr. Gary Semenchuck, President of the Canadian Cancer Society, and Dr. Roy West, President of the National Cancer Institute of Canada, are delighted to announce the appointment of Julie White as Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Cancer Society and the National Cancer Institute of Canada.
Ms. White brings a wide variety of experience in leadership, strategic management and social justice. Most recently she was President and CEO of Private Foundations Canada, a member association of private foundations. While she was President and CEO of the Ontario Trillium Foundation from 1993-98, Trillium became a leader in community building and increased its operational capacity from $17 million to $100 million.
The Canadian Cancer Society is a national community-based organization of volunteers committed to eradicating cancer and enhancing the quality of life of people living with cancer. The National Cancer Institute of Canada undertakes and supports cancer research and related programs that will lead to reduced incidence, morbidity and mortality from cancer.
