Scotiabank is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Sweers to the position of Senior Vice-President, Systems Development. In his new position, Mr. Sweers will manage a large and diverse group of technology employees for the domestic bank including corporate, commercial and retail banking applications. He will also manage the Bank’s Innovation Team. Mr. Sweers brings more than 15 years of diverse experience in the information technology sector to his new position. Prior to joining Scotiabank last year, Mr. Sweers held senior positions at prominent financial and technology firms in Toronto and Vancouver.
Mr. Sweers has actively been involved in a number of industry associations and community endeavours. Most recently, he served as a Director on the board of the Association of Web Professionals. He has also contributed his leadership and time to various community groups including, The United Way, Choices Teen program, and the Ronald McDonald Children’s Charity.
