Scotiabank is pleased to announce the appointment of Derrick Strizic to the position of Managing Director and Head of Investments, Scotiabank Wealth Management. In his new position, Mr. Strizic will be responsible for the investment management and advisory processes, recommendations, strategy and results. He will also be responsible for trading, research and risk management for the ScotiaMcLeod advisory businesses and mutual fund, private client and institutional assets managed by Scotia Cassels.

Mr. Strizic joined Scotiabank in 2001 and was most recently Managing Director and Head, Portfolio Advisory Group, responsible for all aspects of portfolio advisory and wealth management products and services. Prior to that, Mr. Strizic was a Vice-President and Director, Private Client Division, of a major investment dealer. As Divisional Director he was responsible for sales and business management of Metro Toronto, Central, Northern and Eastern Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada.

Mr. Strizic holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. He is actively involved in the community through volunteer work with health, educational and arts organizations.
