Thomas Corcoran, Chair, Board of Directors, Bridgepoint Health Foundation, and Marian Walsh, President and CEO, Bridgepoint Health, are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Terrance Slobodian as President and CEO of Bridgepoint Health Foundation and Vice-President of Bridgepoint Health. In this role, Terrance will be responsible for the overall operations of the Bridgepoint Health Foundation, and will lead all fundraising efforts in support of the research, teaching and patient care mission of Bridgepoint Hospital, one of Canada’s leading complex care and complex rehabilitation hospitals. Terrance will also be responsible for managing a $60 million capital campaign to build a new Bridgepoint Hospital, slated for groundbreaking in the spring of 2007.

Terrance comes to Bridgepoint Health with extensive campaign leadership experience, most recently at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology and Durham College, where he held the senior position of Vice-President, Advancement and President, Foundation. In this role, he led the University’s capital campaign and was responsible for planning and executing a coordinated university and college-wide advancement effort. Prior to this, Terrance spearheaded multiple fundraising initiatives including two hospital capital campaigns: Northumberland Healthcare Corporation’s capital campaign to build a new hospital in Cobourg and Quinte Healthcare Corporation’s campaign to build a new hospital in Bancroft.

Terrance is the Regional Chair for the Canadian Association of Gift Planners and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Recent awards include Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Golden Jubilee Commemorative Medal for “making a significant contribution to Canada and impacting literally thousands of lives overseas through humanitarian service” and the University of Western Ontario’s 2005 Alumni Award of Merit.

Bridgepoint Health is an integrated health services organization focused on providing a continuum of care for patients in the Greater Toronto Area who require complex medical care and complex rehabilitation. On December 16, 2005, Bridgepoint received Provincial Government approval to build a new hospital for complex care and complex rehabilitation (Bridgepoint Hospital) in Riverdale. Bridgepoint Health comprises Bridgepoint Hospital; Bridgepoint Health Research Institute; Bridgepoint Centre for Living; Bridgepoint Community Rehab; and Bridgepoint Health Foundation.
