SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Chakib Sbiti to its Board of Directors.
A respected business executive with extensive experience in the international oil and gas sector, Mr. Sbiti is currently Special Advisor to the CEO of Schlumberger, the world’s largest oil field services company, with over 115,000 employees in approximately 85 countries.
Mr. Sbiti has been with Schlumberger for more than 30 years, working his way up from a Field Engineer in 1981, to become Director of Personnel, Oil Field Services in 1998, President for the Middle East and Asia in 2001, and Executive Vice-President of Oil Field Services two years later, where he achieved significant success for the company.
Mr. Sbiti holds an Electrical Engineering degree, and a master’s from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Ingénieurs in France. Earlier this year, he was appointed a Director of Genel Energy.
