Derek Oland, Chairman, is pleased to announce the appointment of Donald Pether, former Chair of the Board (and CEO) of Dofasco Inc., to the Board of Directors of Emera Inc.
Prior to his position as Chair, Mr. Pether, who joined Dofasco Inc. in 1970, was the President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Pether is currently Chair of the Board of the Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation, is Vice-Chair of the Board of Governors for McMaster University, and is Chair of the Board of the McMaster Innovation Park. He sits on the Council of Governors for the Art Gallery of Hamilton and the Board of Directors of Samuel Manu-Tech Inc. and is a former trustee of the Fording Canadian Coal Trust.
Mr. Pether holds a B.Sc. in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Alberta and an Honourary Doctorate of Laws from McMaster University.
