Darren Entwistle, President and CEO of TELUS Corporation, is pleased to announce the appointment of Roy A. Osing as Executive Vice President, Enterprise Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer for TELUS. In this capacity, Roy will provide the leadership required to ensure that the corporate strategy of delivering integrated data, Internet and wireless solutions is effectively marketed to customers. To do this, he will oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive enterprise marketing plan that brings together TELUS's products and services into unique, competitively priced customer solutions that are supported by a coordinated advertising and sales effort.
Roy has an extensive background in marketing and telecommunications. He served BC TELECOM as Senior Vice President, Marketing, responsible for enterprise marketing strategy and "go to market" programs. Under Roy's leadership, the company received the 1998 American Marketing Association's "Marketer of the Year Award for BC." With TELUS he served as Senior Vice President, Strategic Alliance Management, responsible for developing strategic partnership and alliances, and as Executive Vice President and President of TELUS Advanced Communications, responsible for growing the company's emerging data and Internet business.
Roy is also Chairman of the Board of ISM-BC, TELUS's information technology and e-business solutions company, a member of the BC Cancer Foundation Board, and Chairman of the International Marketing Council for Verizon Communications. Roy is a graduate of the University of British Columbia in mathematics and computer sciences.
