Scotiabank is pleased to announce the appointment of John Oliver to the position of Senior Vice-President, Retail and Small Business Banking, Atlantic Region. In his new position, Mr. Oliver will manage a team of five District Vice-Presidents and over 3,000 employees, responsible for meeting the financial needs of personal and small business banking customers through more than 150 Scotiabank branches in Atlantic Canada.

Mr. Oliver joined Scotiabank thirty-seven years ago in his native Nova Scotia and has worked in a variety of positions within the Bank including Senior Vice-President, Real Estate Banking and Executive Managing Director and Co-Head, US Corporate, Scotia Capital.

Mr. Oliver is presently a Director and Chairman of Kinross Gold Corporation and has served on numerous charitable committees and boards.
