SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Claude Mongeau to the Board of Directors.
A young and rising Montreal business leader, Mr. Mongeau is Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer at Canadian National (CN), which he joined in May 1994. Since then, he has held a number of senior positions, including Vice-President, Strategic and Financial Planning and assistant Vice-President, Corporate Development. He has been CNís Chief Financial Officer since October 1999.
Mr. Mongeau started his career in Paris with the American strategy consulting firm Bain & Company. He was later a partner at Groupe Secor, a Montreal-based consulting firm, and also worked for the business development unit of Imasco.
Mr. Mongeau is Chairman of the Board of CANAC Inc., and a director of the English, Welsh & Scottish Railway and Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. In 1997, he was named one of Canadaís Top 40 under 40 by the Financial Post Magazine.
