Dr. Robert Colcleugh, Chair of The University of Western Ontario’s Board of Governors, is pleased to announce the appointment of Kelly Meighen to the Board.

Meighen is President of the T. R. Meighen Family Foundation, Toronto, Ontario, and St. Andrews, New Brunswick. Established in 1969, the T. R. Meighen Family Foundation has granted more than $15 million dollars to community based activities in area in the fields of education, health, social welfare, cultural and environmental conservation in New Brunswick, Southern Ontario, and the Montreal area.

Meighen is Vice-Chair of the Board for Upper Canada College in Toronto; Vice-Chair of the Board of the Stratford Festival; a board member of the Writer's Development Trust, Toronto; and a member of the National Advisory Council for Mount Allison University.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts (1971) from The University of Western Ontario and honorary degrees from Mount Allison University and the University of New Brunswick.

With an enrolment exceeding 32,000 students, The University of Western Ontario is the province’s third largest university. Founded in 1878, it is recognized internationally as an innovative leader in teaching and research.
