Scotiabank is pleased to announce the appointment of James McPhedran to the position of Executive Vice-President, Retail Distribution, Canadian Banking. In this role, James is responsible for the operations of the Canadian retail and small business customer distribution channels. He reports to Anatol von Hahn, Group Head, Canadian Banking.
James joined Scotiabank in 1996, and was most recently Senior Vice President, Customer Experience and Distribution Strategy, Canadian Banking. He previously served as Senior Vice President, Ontario Region, Canadian Banking, and Managing Director and Head of Scotia Private Client Group, and has also held roles in marketing, product management, financial and estate planning and insurance. Before joining Scotiabank, James spent 12 years with American Express.
James is a graduate of Queen’s University, and has completed both the Securities Industry Institute program at the Wharton School of Business and the Senior Executive Program at the London Business School. He currently sits on the Boards of Casey House Toronto, George Brown College and the Young Centre for the Performing Arts.
