SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. is pleased to announce the appointments of Dr. Lorna R. Marsden to the Board of Directors.
One of Canada’s leading academics, Dr. Marsden is President and Vice-Chancellor of York University, a position she has held since 1997. Prior to joining York, she held several senior faculty posts at the University of Toronto, and was President and Vice-Chancellor of Wilfrid Laurier University between 1992-1997.
Since 1978, Dr. Marsden has actively supported a number of sectors of the economy through directorships held in business, aviation, education, public policy and health and employment, including the Conference Board of Canada, the Centre for Development and Population Activities (Washington), Air Canada, Manulife Bank, the Campaign Cabinet, United Way of Greater Toronto, the Canadian Landmine Foundation and the Canada-US Fulbright Program.
She is currently a director of Manulife Financial, The Gore Mutual, the York University Foundation, Canada World Youth, and has just joined the Board of GO Transit in Toronto. She is a member of the Senior Advisory Panel, Auditor General for Canada, the Canada-Japan Forum, and the Toronto City Summit.
