François Olivier, President and Chief Executive officer of TC Transcontinental, is pleased to announce the appointment of Edward John (Ted) Markle as President of the media sector, TC Media, which employs about 4,000 people and generated revenues of $712 million in 2012.
Mr. Markle joined TC Transcontinental in 1999, and was one of the architects of the strong growth in the Media Sector. Until 2004, as Vice-President, Planning, Production and Information Technology, he led strategic development, set up the Shared Production Centre for magazines, and oversaw the integration of a large number of acquisitions in Quebec, Ontario and the Atlantic provinces.
From 2004 to 2011, in the Printing Sector, Ted Markle piloted the implementation of many strategic partnerships with major North American publishers. From 2011 to 2013, Mr. Markle was Senior Vice-President, Content Solutions, TC Media, in which position he coordinated the integration of the Interactive and Media sectors, among other projects.
Ted Markle has a BA from Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario, and completed Wharton’s Executive Development Program at the University of Pennsylvania.
