Scotiabank is pleased to announce the appointment of John Madden to the position of Deputy Chairman, Capital Markets Group, Scotia Capital. Mr. Madden is jointly responsible for the Global Fixed Income and Derivatives Products Operations in Toronto, Montreal, New York, London and Tokyo.

Mr. Madden joined Scotiabank Group in 1997 and has extensive experience in both domestic and international financial services. A graduate from the University of Toronto with a B.A. in Commerce and Economics, he is also a Chartered Accountant.

Mr. Madden is actively involved in a number of industry associations and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Freedom Bond Brokers and Scotia Capital Inc. He is an active fundraiser in the community for numerous organizations including St. Mary’s High School, Sharelife and a school in Lipangalala, Tanzania.
