Paul Lucas, President and CEO of GlaxoSmithKline Inc., is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Lirette as Vice-President of Sales & Marketing.

As a member of the Canadian Executive Team, Mr. Lirette is responsible for leading GlaxoSmithKline’s national sales operations as well as all the company’s strategic marketing initiatives in Canada including pharmaceuticals and vaccines. In this position, he will also serve as Executive Sponsor for GlaxoSmithKline’s Bureau d’affaires du Québec which houses many national corporate functions.

Mr. Lirette has 16 years experience with GlaxoSmithKline, where he has demonstrated strong leadership qualities and held progressively more senior positions in Sales & Marketing Management. His strong belief and conviction in Canada’s world-class medical talent has lead to increased R&D investments in Canada and in Quebec as well as the creation of innovative public-private partnership projects such as PRIISME to promote optimal disease management.

A native of Montreal, Mr. Lirette holds an MBA from the Université de Sherbrooke and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the Université du Québec à Montréal.
