Hervé Sedky, Senior Vice-President and General Manager of Global Business Travel at American Express, is pleased to announce the appointment of Issa Jouaneh as Vice-President and General Manager, American Express Meetings and Events.
In his new role, Mr. Jouaneh will be leading an organization of employees in over 40 markets to provide holistic meeting expense management solutions to large and mid-sized companies.
Mr. Jouaneh joined American Express in 2005, and has held a number of positions within the company, including director for the Canadian Government, Director of Client Management for North America and most recently as Vice-President of Corporate Meeting Solutions.
Mr. Jouaneh attended Schulich School of Business at York University where he received his Masters of Business Administration. He is also a McGill University graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
American Express in Canada operates as Amex Bank of Canada and Amex Canada Inc. Both are wholly-owned subsidiaries of the New York-based American Express Travel Related Services Company, Inc., the largest operating unit of the American Express Company. Amex Bank of Canada is the issuer of American Express charge and credit cards, with outstanding products like the American Express Gold Rewards Card, and the American Express Aeroplan Plus Gold Card. Amex Canada Inc. operates the Corporate Travel and Travellers Cheques divisions in Canada. American Express opened its first offices in Toronto and Hamilton in 1853, and now employs 3,700 Canadians coast-to-coast.
