HSBC Bank Canada is pleased to announce the following appointment:

Mr. Michael Grandin was formerly Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fording Canadian Coal Trust and Fording Inc. in Calgary, Alberta.

He has served as Dean of the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary, President of PanCanadian Petroleum Ltd. and Chief Financial Officer of Canadian Pacific Limited.

Mr. Grandin is on the Board of Directors of EnCana Corporation.

Mr. Grandin holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science (Civil Engineering) degree from the University of Alberta.
