Mr. Jimm Simon, Chair, Canadian Cancer Society Board of Directors, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Peter Goodhand as President and CEO of the Canadian Cancer Society, effective May 4, 2009.
Passionately committed to the cancer cause and to the Society, Mr. Goodhand has served as CEO of the Society’s Ontario Division since 2004.
Mr. Goodhand has decades of experience in Canada and internationally in the health field. He is currently volunteer Chair of the Health Technology Exchange. Prior to joining the Society, Mr. Goodhand was President and CEO of MEDEC. His career has included roles as vice-president of sales and marketing and vice-president of global marketing with leading healthcare companies.
Mr. Goodhand takes over from Dr. Barbara Whylie, who is retiring after 13 years with the Society.
The Canadian Cancer Society is a national community-based organization of volunteers whose mission is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with cancer.
