The Board of Directors of the Canadian Cancer Society, Ontario Division, is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter C. Goodhand as Chief Executive Officer. He succeeds Penny E. Thomsen, who announced her retirement in January.
Mr. Goodhand has over 20 years international experience in the health technology industry.
Most recently, Mr. Goodhand led the Health Technology Exchange, an initiative to increase the commercialization of health research in Ontario.
Mr. Goodhand has led the regeneration of several not-for-profit organizations aimed at enhancing the performance of the health care system and improving the quality of patient care.
Mr. Goodhand was President of Medical Devices Canada – MEDEC and represented the industry to the Senate and Romanow Commissions. Prior to this role, Mr. Goodhand was Vice President Corporate Marketing and Strategic Business Development with Johnson & Johnson Medical Canada.
The Canadian Cancer Society is a national, community-based organization of volunteers whose mission is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with cancer.
