The Board of Directors of SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Pierre Duhaime to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer, and his election to the Board of Directors.
Mr. Duhaime has been an Executive Vice-President and member of the Office of the President since January 1, 2003. He was responsible for SNC-Lavalinís mining & metallurgy, sulphuric acid and North American biopharmaceutical operations, as well as for its industrial operations in Quebec. His geographical responsibilities covered the Companyís operations in Australia, Brazil, Chile, Indonesia, Peru, Romania and South Africa.
Mr. Duhaime joined SNC-Lavalin in 1989 as a project manager in the Industrial Division. He was promoted to Director of Technology for the Division in 1991, and appointed its Vice-President, Projects and Technology in 1997. In 2000, he was named Senior Vice-President of the Division, and in 2001, he assumed additional responsibilities for the mining & metallurgy and the Aluminum Division.
Mr. Duhaime holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Metallurgy from líÉcole Polytechnique de Montréal and an MBA from HEC Montréal.
Mr. Duhaime succeeds Jacques Lamarre as President and Chief Executive Officer.
