Wayne Crawley is a business builder. As Vice-President, Corporate Strategy & Development for Emera Inc., Wayne is expanding the company’s energy business through acquisitions, partnerships and development alliances. His recent successes include acquisition of hydroelectric facilities in Massachusetts in partnership with Brascan Power. Wayne is also leading Emera’s participation in the development of an international electricity transmission line linking New Brunswick and Maine.
Now as the newest Governor of the Atlantic Provinces Economic Council (APEC), Wayne is also applying his skill and expertise more broadly, working to promote economic development of the Atlantic region as a whole.
Wayne is a Chartered Accountant, and an alumnus of Saint Mary’s University in Halifax. He is a Director of ENTx Capital Corporation, a Calgary-based energy investment company. A leader in his community, Wayne currently serves on the Board of Trade Centre Limited, and is a Governor of Junior Achievement in Nova Scotia. He is a member of the Young President’s Organization, and in 2001 was honoured as one of Canada’s “Top 40 Under 40”.
Emera Inc. (TSX:EMA) is an energy and services company headquartered in Halifax, with 570,000 customers and $4 billion in assets. Emera’s operations include two regulated electric utilities, Nova Scotia Power Inc. and Bangor Hydro Electric, hydroelectric facilities in Massachusetts, and a 12.9% interest in the Maritimes and Northeast Pipeline.
