The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario is very pleased to announce the appointment of Barry Cracower as volunteer Chair and President of its Board of Directors.
Founder and former President of Rexall Drug Stores, Mr. Cracower is currently an active member of other charity boards as well as public and private for-profit boards. With a keen interest in governance and education, Mr. Cracower is nearing completion of his ICD Directors Education Program certification.
Mr. Cracower has had numerous volunteer roles with the Foundation since joining the Board seven years ago, including serving as Chair of the Fundraising and Marketing Committee, Chair of the Board Development Committee and Vice-Chair of the Board.
With business, entrepreneurial and consulting expertise, Mr. Cracower brings diverse possibilities to the future of the Foundation. As a dedicated community volunteer, his own experience underscores his appreciation for the contributions of HSFO’s donors and 42,000 volunteers.
The Heart and Stroke Foundation, a volunteer-based health charity, leads in eliminating heart disease and stroke and reducing their impact through the advancement of research and its application, the promotion of healthy living, and advocacy.
