The University of Western Ontario is pleased to announce the election of Don McDougall as Chair and Helen Connell as Vice-Chair of its Board of Governors, starting January 1, 2004.
McDougall is Chairman and CEO of Novatronics Inc. and President of Rambri Management Inc. He also holds positions as Chairman and CEO of Slemon Park Corporation in Summerside, PEI, and as President of the London Hunt and Country Club. He received a BComm from St. Dunstanís University in PEI, an MBA from Western and an honorary LLD from the University of Prince Edward Island.
Connell is Executive Director of the United Way of London & Middlesex. Prior to joining the United Way in 2000, she spent more than 20 years at The London Free Press where she began her career as a reporter and columnist and later became Editor. Connell received an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business and attended both Fanshawe and Mohawk Collegesí print and broadcast journalism programs.
With an enrolment exceeding 32,000 students, The University of Western Ontario is the provinceís third largest university. Founded in 1878, it is recognized internationally as an innovative leader in teaching and research.
