Heenan Blaikie is pleased to announce that Simon Chester and Cyndee Todgham Cherniak have joined the Toronto office as partners.
Simon joined the litigation and business law practices and plays a leadership role in strengthening the firmís intellectual infrastructure in knowledge management, legal research and legal opinions. He is a Canadian Rhodes Trust Foundation Scholar and an elected Fellow of the College of Law Practice Management. Simon is a graduate of Oxford University (B.A., M.A.), Osgoode Hall Law School (LL.M.), and a member of the Bar of Ontario (1982) and the Law Society of England and Wales (1988).
Cyndee joined the business and tax law practices and comes with an exceptional track record in international and trade law, and commodity tax. She is a Chair of the Womenís Interest Network of the American Bar Association, International Law Section; a Chair of the Customs Subcommittee of the Canadian Bar Association, Sales and Commodity Tax Section; and is active in the Canada China and Canada-India business councils. Cyndee is a graduate of the University of Windsor (LL.B.), University of Detroit (J.D.), and Osgoode Hall Law School (LL.M.). She was called to the Ontario Bar in 1994.
