Scotiabank is pleased to announce the appointment of Alberta G. Cefis to the position of Executive Vice-President, Retail Lending Services and President & CEO, Scotia Mortgage Corporation. Based in Toronto, Ms. Cefis is responsible for the business lines that comprise consumer lending including mortgages, credit cards, personal loans, automotive finance, as well as credit risk management and integrated business solutions.

Ms. Cefis has extensive experience in retail banking, operations and service delivery, marketing, strategic planning and organizational development acquired during her 21 year career in the Canadian financial services industry. She joined Scotiabank in 1999. Most recently, Ms. Cefis was Senior Vice-President, Retail Lending Services. She is multilingual, and holds a BA, Joint Honours and an MBA.

Ms. Cefis is actively involved in a number of industry associations and community endeavours. Currently, she is Chair of the Chip Executive Council, Director of the Visa Canada Association Board, and President & Director of the Board of Opera Atelier, a world class Baroque Opera company in Toronto.
