The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, has announced the appointment of Mr. Ray Castelli as the new Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC).
Mr. Castelli is a well-known Canadian business leader with a wealth of experience in international trade, business development and innovation, stemming from involvement at both the senior management and Board levels. He has been a part of the management team of numerous companies including Alcan Aluminum Limited, Quadrem, Naikun Wind Development Inc., and Weatherhaven, of which Mr. Castelli is currently the Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Castelli has extensive experience as a member of several Canadian and international company Boards. Recently, he served as a key advisor to the British Columbia Business Council, the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industry (CADSI), and on ministerial taskforces at the federal level, including the Minister of Trade Advisory Committee and the Minister of Public Works and Government Services Canada Panel on Military Procurement Reform.
The CCC is a parent Crown Corporation of the Government of Canada established in 1946, which seeks to increase access to foreign government markets for Canadian exporters. Its headquarters are located in Ottawa, Ontario.
