Manulife Financial Chair of the Board Gail Cook-Bennett is pleased to announce that Joseph Caron has joined the Boards of Directors of Manulife Financial Corporation and The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company.
Joseph Caron, former Canadian Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China and former Canadian Ambassador to Japan, and High Commissioner to the Republic of India, brings significant international, management, and government relations experience to Manulife’s Board. Mr. Caron has been named a Distinguished Fellow of the Asia Pacific Foundation and an Honorary Research Associate of the University of British Columbia’s Institute of Asian Research. In September, Mr. Caron joined Heenan Blaikie, one of Canada’s largest national lawfirms, as Strategic Advisor for Asia Pacific. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Ottawa.
