Scotiabank is pleased to announce the appointment of J.E. (Joe) Brandt to the position of Senior Vice-President, Retail and Small Business Banking in Atlantic Canada. Scotiabank has a long and proud history in Atlantic Canada with the largest branch presence of any major Canadian bank. Based in Halifax, Mr. Brandt will manage a team of five District Vice-Presidents and over 3000 employees, responsible for meeting the financial needs of personal and small business banking customers through more than 150 Scotiabank branches in Atlantic Canada.

Mr. Brandt joined Scotiabank in 1971 and has held various progressive positions including the roles of Branch Manager, Commercial Account Manager, District Operations, Credit Adjudication, Training, and Small Business Product Development. Most recently, Mr. Brandt was Vice-President Strategic Planning for the Domestic Bank.

Mr. Brandt spent several years as Scotiabank’s champion of Small Business. He was instrumental in launching several new products for small business including Scotia Professional Plan, specifically designed for self-employed professionals.
