Jacques Lamarre, President and Chief Executive Officer of the SNC-Lavalin Group Inc., is pleased to announce the appointment of three new members to the Board of Directors.
Serge Godin is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the CGI Group, a company he founded in 1976 and which has become the sixth largest IT service company in North America.
Mr. Godin is a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Management Consultants. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Quebec Board of Trade, the Business Council on National Issues and the Cercle des chefs mailleurs du Québec.
He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Société générale de financement (SGF), and is actively involved in several charitable organizations.
Pierre H. Lessard is President and Chief Executive Officer of Métro-Richelieu Inc., a leading Canadian food distribution company. Mr. Lessard has extensive management experience, having served as President and Chief Executive Officer of AEterna Life Insurance Company, Vice-Chairman of Pathonic Communications Inc., and President of Provigo Inc.
Mr. Lessard began his career as a chartered accountant and holds an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. Currently, he is active on several boards including Métro-Richelieu Inc., the Toronto-Dominion Bank, Montrusco & Associates Inc. and Cinar Corporation. He is also involved in several community activities.
Edythe A. Parkinson-Marcoux is President and Chief Executive Officer of Ensyn Energy, a Calgary-based company involved in providing proprietary heavy oil upgrading technology to oil producers worldwide. Since 1976, Mrs. Parkinson-Marcoux has held a number of posts at Imperial Oil, Petro-Canada, Ontario Hydro and Suncor. She was President of both CS Resources and Gulf Heavy Oil.
Mrs. Parkinson-Marcoux is also a director of the Petroleum Research Technology Centre, the Ensyn Group Inc., Placer Dome Inc. and SPP (USA) Inc. She is President of the 1989 Canadian Engineering Memorial Foundation and a member of the Canadian Foundation for Innovation.
