Heenan Blaikie is pleased to welcome Eric Maldoff as a partner of the firm.
With degrees in Civil and Common Law, Mr. Maldoff brings to Heenan Blaikie more than two decades of experience in the practice of commercial and corporate law. Based at Heenan Blaikie's Montreal office, he will continue to advise national and Quebec-based commercial clients on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and partnerships. Mr. Maldoff also serves as a director of several corporations.
Mr. Maldoff has extensive experience in matters of public law and policy. He is currently the Chief Federal Negotiator with the Mohawks of Kanesatake (Oka) and served as Special Legal Counsel to Human Resources Development Canada in the negotiation of the Canada- Quebec Manpower Training Agreement signed in 1997.
Mr. Maldoff is a recognized community leader, particularly active in the health sector. He is a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the McGill University Health Centre, Chair of the Board of Governors of the Montreal Children's Hospital Corporation and Chair of the Quebec Provincial Committee on the Dispensing of Health and Social Services in the English Language. Mr. Maldoff also recently served as a member of the National Forum on Health chaired by the Prime Minister of Canada.
