Assessment: I had instant recognition of this commercial and I am thrilled to give it the accolades I think it deserves. It does what all great spots accomplish. It rewards frequent viewing. I have seen this commercial numerous times at home and I observe it more closely each time without any disappointment. The reason is very simple. Everyone that was involved has brought their best forward. A great concept simply and stylishly executed.

Assessment: I like this ad. And more importantly I like Becel for starring in this ad. The spot tells me nothing about the product, its qualities or its “unique selling proposition” but, like the Special K work of years before, it wraps itself in the irresistible promises of common sense and wellness. Kudos to the clients who approved this platform for having the balls to stand for something larger than margarine product attributes. Kudos to the agency for making me laugh out loud.

Assessment: : I love this ad. In fact, I love most of the work that’s been done on this brand. They have taken a simple strategy and kept it smart over the years, with a few exceptions. I do miss the more original visual approach of years past (tub of Becel hiding under couch cushions) and feel like there are too many supers at the end. But the bottom line is, I laughed out loud when I saw it and remembered it afterwards.
