B.C. Liberal stepped aside for Campbell
Art Cowie stepped aside to allow Gordon Campbell to seek a seat in the B.C. Legislature. An urban planner by trade, Mr. Cowie was part of the revival of the B.C. Liberal Party in 1991, winning a seat on the opposition benches under then-party leader Gordon Wilson. Two years later, Mr. Campbell won the party leadership and Mr. Cowie vacated his seat to make room for the new party leader in the legislature.
JOHN O'HARA
Two of John O'Hara's great passions in life were music and medicine. Both ran in his bloodline. His mother, Anna O'Connor, was one of the O'Connor Sisters who sang on vaudeville stages all over Canada and the United States.
