· Born in Montreal, raised in West Vancouver

· Attended Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia; received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing

· Instructor in wilderness first aid at Capilano College, North Vancouver in the Wilderness Leadership Program

· Clinic administrator and research assistant at B.C. Sport Medicine Clinic (now the Alan McGavin Sport Medicine Clinic), U.B.C.,1980 – 1985

· Member of the Canadian Summer Olympic Team in 1984 as part of the medical contingent

· First came to the Yukon in 1971 to meet up with her husband to be, Jim: moved permanently to the Yukon in 1985

· Lived in Mayo, a small village in the “heart of the Yukon”, for four years working as the Yukon College Community Campus coordinator

· Senior advisor in the Yukon New Democratic governments under Tony Penekitt and Piers McDonald as Executive Assistant to Piers McDonald

· Co-owned and operated a wilderness tourism company and was on the Board of Directors of the Wilderness Tourism Association of the Yukon

· Currently is co-owner of Touch The North, a company that provides consulting services in community and economic development

· Avid canoeist who has paddled many of Yukon’s wilderness rivers; also teaches taijiquan

Married to Jim, an outdoor/environmental educator, and lives on the outskirts of Whitehorse with their 24 dogs (they have a dog team).
