John Duncan is the sitting Conservative Party of Canada Member of Parliament for the constituency of Vancouver Island North, British Columbia.
He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and raised in British Columbia where he has lived in the communities of Natal, Kamloops, North Vancouver and Vancouver as a child and youth.
He is a three-term MP having been first elected in 1993 for the federal riding of North Island-Powell River. He was re-elected in 1997 for the newly configured riding of Vancouver Island North and re-elected in 2000.
A graduate of the Faculty of Forestry, University of British Columbia with a B.ScF., John has worked on Vancouver Island and the Queen Charlotte Islands in the forest industry as a Divisional Forester and Contract Supervisor.
In his role in Parliament John has served as the Critic in a variety of portfolios including, Aboriginal Affairs, Fisheries and Oceans, Forestry and Mining, International rade and was elected chair of the BC Caucus for the Official Opposition 1999-2004.
