Born and raised in England, Roger has a B.Sc. in Engineering. He was a successful architectural consulting mechanical engineer (P.Eng.) until 1981. Since then he has been homesteading in the backwoods with wife, Jeannie. Roger is a landscape photographer and a musician (with Jeannie).
He was a Green Party candidate in the 2000 federal election, the 2001 provincial election and the 2002 Smithers municipal election.
He is concerned about environmental degradation, the world no longer being a self-repairing entity (drinking water, air pollution, garbage, soil loss), global warming, and the plight of the least advantaged people in our society (has the NDP has ever represented them?). Roger says, “I believe I must try to change the direction being dictated by greedy international corporate capitalism all in the name of jobs and progress.”
