Kwangyul Peck is an economist who has provided advice on economic policy and Asia Pacific issues to Prime Minister Paul Martin during his tenure as the former minister of finance.
Mr. Peck has appeared in national television and radio serveral times to discuss international economy, and has written for various publications, including the Globe and Mail. Mr. Peck is a former Vice-President of Econolynx International, an economic policy consulting firm in Ottawa, where he devised and analyzed economic policies for various governments and businesses. He moved to Vancouver in 1992, and joined Park Georgia Group as its Chief Economist and Vice-President.
Mr. Peck now owns and manages K. Peck & Associates Ltd., an economic policy consultation firm, and Kwangyul Peck Fund Inc, an investment fund. He has provided analyses of East Asian political economies to global financial institutions. Mr. Peck also created and managed investment funds that involve options and derivatives, and are aimed at IT industries.
Mr. Peck immigrated to Canada from Korea when he was 17, and was educated at the universities of Toronto, McGill, Bishops and Carleton. He lives in Port Moody with his wife Sonia, daughter Ki-eun, and son Ki-seon.
