Kevin Ade is a fifty-six year old father and artist who works at a daycare. Since his arrival in the Okanagan from Wales in 1973 he has worked on various environmental and social projects around the province, mostly in the Okanagan. He has worked in an environmental capacity with/for a variety of agencies including the City of Kelowna, the Ministry of Water Land and Air Protection and the Canada Lands Company. He sat on the Property Assessment Review Panel for 8 years, and is a director of three environmental organizations.
In 1971 he was awarded the Young Wales Society Prize for Excellence in Art, and in 1998 a City of Kelowna Volunteer Award and the Central Okanagan Heritage Society's Award for the Preservation of a Neighbourhood.
"I was motivated to become a Green Party candidate," Kevin stated, "because I found that traditional politics have ignored and replaced respect for people and the environment which sustains them with the profit or the power motive. It is a decision that evolved out of the work I have been doing and the principles I have been espousing for thirty years."
