John O'Fee was born and raised in Kamloops, the sixth of seven children in a working-class family. Mr. O’Fee’s mother still lives in the family home located in a culturally-diverse North Kamloops neighborhood.
While tending to his law practice for the past fifteen years, Mr.O’Fee served three terms as a school trustee including three years as school board chair. He is in his second term as a city councillor and serves as president of the Kamloops Airport Society. Besides his airport duties, he is treasurer of the regional economic development agency Venture Kamloops, a director of the Thompson Nicola Regional District, chair of the local court of revision, and member of the city’s audit committee.
Mr.O’Fee has also served the past five years as annual campaign chair for the UCC University Foundation which is dedicated to raising scholarship and bursary money for deserving students.
For his numerous and meaningful contributions to the region, his achievements have been recognized by many groups in the community. He was the first ever recipient of the UCC University Distinguished Alumni Award for Community Service. He was also recognized by Habitat for Humanity for pro bono legal work done on their behalf. He has been successful in five municipal elections and topped the polls as a councillor in the last two elections.
Mr. O’Fee and his wife Daniela have been married since 1988 and have two children, Lucas and Colin.
