A proud Canadian, wife, and mother of two who understands the challenges and concerns faced by ordinary citizens in their daily lives, Nina is a person with deep values who cares about her community and the people in it. She believes in a government that’s accountable to the people it represents, and not to friends and cronies.
Nina has been an active member of the Reform Party, Canadian Alliance and Conservative Party of Canada since 1996, including sitting on the board of her Constituency Association, participating in several election campaigns and three leadership races.
Nina’s personal background is best summed up in her own words:
“It was in Liberia that I also developed a very deep appreciation of freedom and democracy. On a daily basis, I witnessed suffering and disaster first-hand in the bloody civil war that killed 1 in 10 and displaced 6 out of 10 people in that country. Not a day goes by that I'm not incredibly thankful that I am now a Canadian and live in this great country of ours.”
Since the day Nina moved here with her family, she’s contributed to making Canada a better country through community and volunteer work. Now that her children are grown-up and attending post-secondary institutions, Nina feels that the time has come for her to do even more. Electing Nina to Parliament will give the citizens of Fleetwood-Port Kells a principled, strong, caring voice that will reflect grassroots values and priorities, and send to Ottawa a strong advocate on their behalf.
