Although she was born in Saskatchewan, Shelley Leonhardt has called Richmond, B.C. home for more than 15 years.
Ms. Leonhardt cares deeply about her community’s safety and wellness – she wants to bring people together for the common good. She has volunteered her time to causes that she believes in. She has served on numerous volunteer boards such as the B.C. Chamber of Commerce, the Richmond Chamber of Commerce, Tourism Richmond, the Gateway Theatre Society and the STOP the Bullying Society.
Her energetic work history includes selling structural steel, estimating home and office moves, assisting in the managing of a hotel, managing an international placement agency, and spending nearly a decade as the Executive Director of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce.
Ms. Leonhardt knows from hands-on experience what it takes to build a successful small- or medium-sized business. For the past three years, she has managed her own consulting business where she works with many local executives and businesses.
During her career, Ms. Leonhardt has won numerous awards and nominations, including the Ethel Tibbits Business Woman of the Year award, the U.S. Consulate’s International V. P. Award, and the British Columbia Chamber of the Year Award. She has worked hard to establish a trust in her community and will maintain that bond by continuing to meet the needs of her fellow citizens.
She and her husband, Bryan, have two sons, Nathan and Les.
