Menzies, Ted

Alberta, Macleod, Conservative Party of Canada

For 30 years, Ted and his wife, Sandy, have operated Section One Farm Ltd. near Claresholm, Alberta Canada, producing wheat, barley, canola, field peas, lentils, chick peas and spice crops on their 5,000 acre dry-land farm.

Ted is driven by a strong belief in the economic and environmental benefits generated through soil and moisture conservation. As such, he moved his farm to zero-tillage, continuous-cropping production methods and the recent adoption of global positioning technologies and computerized process and production records.

Ted's commitment to maintaining a long-term, sustainable and vibrant agricultural sector as well as a strong local community has led to opportunities representing agricultural issues at home and abroad.
