Ken Epp was born, raised and educated in Saskatchewan. He has undergraduate degrees in Science (Mathematics & Physics) and Education.
He moved to Alberta in 1961, taught High School Mathematics for four (4) years and then joined the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology staff as a Mathematics Instructor in 1966. He was on staff there in various positions until 1993.
Ken and his wife Betty have lived on an acreage east of Sherwood Park since 1975. They have three grown children, two of whom are married, and five grandchildren.
Ken has had a life-long involvement in volunteer organizations. He was involved in student government in high school and university and has been involved at leadership levels with professional organizations connected to his career.
He was the founding President of the NAIT Academic Staff Association. Ken served as Chairman of the Board for a Christian children/youth camp for a number of years, and was Chairman of the Board of Governors of Strathcona Christian Academy in Sherwood Park during its first seven years.
Since being elected as a Member of Parliament, Ken has served as Parliamentary Critic for Public Works and Government Services, Deputy House Leader, and Deputy Finance Critic. Currently, Ken is the Ethics Critic and sits on the Government Operations Committee.
First elected to the House of Commons in 1993.
