Brian Jean is the Conservative Party candidate in the riding of Athabasca, Alberta.
A 37-year resident of northern Alberta, he was educated at the Fort McMurray Composite High school, has a Bachelor of Science degree, as well has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Laws Degree.
In his professional life, Brian has worked as a farm hand, a logger, a publisher, as a successful businessman, as an Instructor at Keyano College, and as a Barrister/Solicitor.
He has a great love of the outdoors, being involved in canoeing, quading, boating, hunting and fishing. He has played Minor to Gentlemenís League hockey and also coached minor sports.
Among his many public service activities, Brian was the Alberta Summer Games Chair in 1985, President of the Downtown Business Association 1986-89; Director Chamber of Commerce 1984-88; Patron of Keyano College; President, University Students Council in 1989, and Honorary Chair of the Childrenís Health foundation in 1997-99.
He has also been a member of the PC Party since 1979, and an Canadian Alliance member since 1993 before continuing after the party merger in 2003 as a member of the Conservative Party of Canada.
