"I enjoy the privileges of the great society we have in Canada. I recognize that with these privileges come responsibilities. I feel responsible to my generation and to the generations to follow: to my daughter and her childrenís childrenís generations. I feel that we must work to safeguard our environment so that we can continue to have safe food, clean water and breathable air. Common sense tells me if we donít work now to lay the groundwork for a fresh way of living within our environmental means, future generations will be forced to bear an irreversible and unbearable cost. As rational thinking human beings, we can do better than that."
