Rob has been a resident of Transcona for the past 26 years. On December 26, 1970, he married Judith Anne Kramble from Transcona. They had one son, Robert Ryan, deceased August 3, 1997.
Rob attended schools in St. Boniface. Later he completed Grade 12 at the Winnipeg Adult Education Centre, earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Manitoba in 1973 and his Certificate of Education from the same University in 1974.
Employment: He has worked as a teacher and social counsellor with the Department of Indian Affairs and is a retired member of the Royal Canadian Naval Reserves with the rank of Chief Petty Officer 2nd Class. He is currently employed as a locomotive engineer with the Canadian National Railway.
Community: Rob was a leader with the scouting movement; he served on Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Parish Council as Chairman of Ecumenical Committee; he was a Red Cross Blood donor, canvasser and zone captain for the Manitoba Heart Fund; he and wife, Judi Anne, were youth leaders and host couple for Evenings for the Engaged and Marriage Encounter Programs; he served as Director of Neighbourhood Watch and President of District #4 Citizens For Crime Awareness.
He and Judi Anne currently attend Shalom Family Worship Centre where he is a Deacon, Chairman of the Church Council and member of the Missions Committee. He is also a member of League For Life and a volunteer with Focus on the Family.
He has been a life-member of the CHP since 1988 because it is the only political party he can be a member of without compromising his Christian principles. He believes strongly that Canada has to return to its Christian heritage with the resultant respect for God, life, and family; that the citizens of Canada be given dignity through sanctity of life, employment, justice and that the National Deficit be brought under control through fiscal accountability.
