Rick was born in Rome Italy, in 1948 and emigrated to Canada in 1955. Between the years 1977-1987, his family owned and operated an incorporated manufacturing enterprise producing metal fabrications for giftware applications. Rick took responsibility for the operation of the business from 1978.
Currently, he is an employee of the Daimler Chrysler Corporation, as part of a new vehicle launch team.
Rick has been a freelance political critic for some twenty years. He ran for the nomination to be the candidate for the Canadian Alliance in the 2000 general election. He finished second out of four contenders, and went on to help on the campaign team of the nominated candidate.
Rick ran again in the 2002 by-election (Windsor-West) and won the nomination, but lost the election. Rick continued to be active on the board of directors for the local riding association, before winning the nomination to run as the candidate for the Conservative party of Canada in the riding of Windsor-Tecumseh, where Rick currently resides.
During his early twenties, Rick was a member of the Windsor Regiment reserve militia. Rick speaks fluent Italian. He has been married to Carolyne for 31 years. They have two children; Ryan, age 23, and Danielle, 18.
