Jovan has been politically involved at all three levels of government for a number of years. Having worked on numerous campaigns in the past 10 years, his experience in politics is broad-based. He has been involved in the Progressive Conservative Party since the age of 16. He was also a vocal supporter of the creation of the new Conservative Party of Canada.
In his professional life, Jovan is the Economic Development Officer for the Regional Municipality of Durham. Previously, he spent 3 years as Client Services Coordinator for the Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance (GTMA) bringing international investment to the GTA.
Jovan earned his Master's Degree in Economic Development from the University of Waterloo and attended Ryerson University for his undergraduate studies in Urban Planning.
During his time at Ryerson, he was an elected member of the Board of Governors and the Vice-President, Internal Affairs for the Ryerson Association of Planning Students.
Jovan has volunteered his time with Daytrippers Children's Charity since 2002 as the Co-Chair of the Marketing Committee and Editor of ‘The Daytripper' Newsletter. The importance and positive impact of "the daytrip" to a child's learning experience is truly immeasurable, particularly for less privileged children in our society. He continues to volunteer his energy in the community on many different levels.
In his spare time he prefers to watch basketball or take in a game of chess against any willing competitor.
