September 1985 to 2002: Bethesda Outreach Services of Niagara, Inc. Working with adults 18 years of age and older, who have developmental delays ranging from mild to profoundly impaired, and speech & language disorders, including swallowing & feeding issues.
Project Co-ordinator, Hanen Resource Centre, Toronto, Ontario 1989 to 1996 for development of workshop series "Allow Me" geared to training counsellors of adults with developmental disabilities and concomitant language delays, in methods of facilitating the development of communication skills. Authored book: Allow Me, published December 2000. As a result, has trained up to 200+ front line staff members or more over the years in this series. The focus of the series is on the care givers' skills, using the latest adult learning strategies.
Conducted many workshops (1 hour to 2 days) hosted by Bethesda and other agencies to educate front line staff, and where possible clients, in hearing health, speech & language strategies, basic sign language, and swallowing.
