Carl Rose has been a conservationist and environmentalist since he planted trees as a Boy Scout in Port Hope, Ont. He is married with grown children.
He received his Bachelor of Science from the Royal Military College in Kingston, served three years in the Canadian Navy and then took teacher training.
Carl taught Science for 2 1/2 years in High School and then moved to adult education. He spent most of his career teaching Science and Mathematics at Confederation College.
He is now retired and volunteers for several organizations. He enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing and gardening. He has a small organic garden for which he composts waste vegetation and he helps his wife with her perennial garden.
Carl is a member of several environmental and outdoor organizations such as Environment North, Thunder Bay Field Naturalists and Thunder Bay Hiking Club.
Carl was a candidate for the Green Party in the last two provincial elections and the last federal election. In each election his Green Party vote increased so Carl hopes that the Green Party's vision for a future which is practical and optimistic will result in another increase in the upcoming federal election. He will be campaigning around his huge riding in his Honda Civic HYBRID which he bought for the last provincial election.
